Assistant Professor/Master Instructor in Psychology—Joplin, Missouri
The Missouri Southern State University Psychology Department is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position on its Joplin, Missouri campus. This position may be tenure-track (Assistant Professor) or non-tenure track (Master Instructor) depending on candidate credentials.
Successful candidates should be prepared to teach General Psychology and ABA courses.
Other responsibilities include student advising and participation in service activities to support an ABA clinic, including leadership. The position may be 10-month or 12-month with a flexible hire date (Summer or Fall 2025).
Requirements
A Master’s in Psychology or related field is required with multiple areas of specialization (e.g., Developmental, Clinical, ABA) that support our growing Applied Behavior Analysis center and program being considered.
Ideal candidates will have BCBA certification and clinical experience.
The position requires a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and advising at the undergraduate level.

The Psychology Department, housed in the Julio S. León Health Sciences Center, provides the foundational skills for students to either start a career with a bachelor’s degree or to pursue further education. Class sizes are kept small, allowing a unique focus on the research skills that are vital to the field of psychology. Students complete a series of research courses, which ultimately allow them to conduct their own semester-long research project on a topic that interests them. While collecting data for their project, they have access to high-quality human and animal laboratories.
